Chester Village Christmas

Village of Chester

Every year, during the last weekend of November - the Seaside Village of Chester lights up for three days full of festive fun.

Built on the success of Chester's beloved Gingerbread Festival - the Chester Village Christmas incorporates all the delicious elements of days gone by with a whole new series of seasonal favourites.

It all begins at the Chester's Bandstand by the Chester Yacht Club for a Friday evening of merriment - complete with lots of songs and plenty of dance, plus hot chocolate from the Treasure Treat Truck and a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus who arrive via the village’s Classic Fire Truck just in time to magically illuminate the BIG Christmas Tree.

The weekend continues with everything from Christmas Classics on the big screen at the Chester Playhouse Theatre, to all sorts of seasonal specials and sales for Shopping Under the Stars with the Chester Merchants, plus a wide variety of community craft fairs and the Chester Farmers & Artisans Christmas Market too.  There's so much to see as well with everything from pancake breakfasts and bake sales to seasonal feasts at the Village restaurants.

And of course, true to the tradition the Gingerbread House Competition continues with everyone from school-aged groups to top chefs vying for victory in a variety of classes – all the works are on display and ready for your viewing and vote in the special people’s choice categories.
