About the Municipality of Chester

From Hubbards to Martins River and inland to New Ross and Sherwood, Our Municipality of Chester is the gateway to the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

For ease of exploring we've broken down our Municipality into five main areas.

Located in Kespukwitk (Lands End) district of Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. The Municipality acknowledges the Peace and Friendship Treaties signed and recognizes that we are all Treaty People. We acknowledge the responsibility to deeply engage and move forward with the work of truth, reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Farmers' Market, 2SLGBTQ+ Friendly

A Saturday morning tradition in Hubbards, the Hubbards Barn Farmers' Market has been operating for over 25 years at the Hubbards Barn & Community Park.

With vendors inside and outside the Barn you will find everything from a delicious hot breakfast, fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, bread, craft spirits and beer to soaps, coffee, and artisan creations.

You can also enjoy great live music, a sand pit, and picnic tables.

The market runs May-October along with Christmas Markets in November and December. The market is a member of Farmers' Markets of Nova Scotia.
