About the Municipality of Chester

From Hubbards to Martins River and inland to New Ross and Sherwood, Our Municipality of Chester is the gateway to the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

For ease of exploring we've broken down our Municipality into five main areas.

Located in Kespukwitk (Lands End) district of Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. The Municipality acknowledges the Peace and Friendship Treaties signed and recognizes that we are all Treaty People. We acknowledge the responsibility to deeply engage and move forward with the work of truth, reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Farmers' Market

Shop like a local at the Chester Farmers' & Artisan Market. Operating for over 10 years every Friday morning, rain or shine, 9am-12:30pm at the Old Chester Train Station.

With vendors from all over the South Shore and Halifax, you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, treats, seafood, craft spirits, creations from local artisans and more. The market is a member of Farmers' Markets of Nova Scotia.

Parking is available on site.
