Castle Rock Trail

Castle Rock Trail is a year-round multi-use trail located in East River, outside Hubbards. If you are driving along Hwy 103, take exit 7. There are routes suitable for hikers of all abilities. It is great a spot for picnics and families.

Parking is available at the East River Trail Parking Lot, a short drive down Hwy 329. It is approximately 3.2 km from the East River Trail Parking Lot to the Castle Rock Trail Head along the Chester Connection Trail. Round trip to the peak and back is 9km, 3-4 hours. Dogs are welcome, but they should be leashed at all times.

There are five routes you can choose from, ranging in level of difficulty from easiest to most difficult. The final 100m climb onto Castle Rock can be a challenge. The views at the top of waters of Mahone Bay are worth the effort. When coming back down, go low and slow.
