Take-Out Picnic

Take-Out Picnic at the Chester Legion.  This is a fundraiser for the Heritage Society “Riveria of the East”.  During the 1930s, Chester was known in the Chamber of Commerce publicity as the “Riviera of the East.”  Visitors arrived by train and boat from Canada, the US and around the world to experience the unique qualities of our Village. Among other things, visitors would take walks and hikes, sail, canoe, fish and simply enjoy the natural beauty. In memory of that time, the Chester Municipal Heritage Society is organizing a third “non-event’  - a Riviera picnic.  The Riviera picnic baskets for either one or two will be available for pickup at the Legion or delivery within the Village of Chester. After that, you plan your own event like the good old days – join with family or friends, picnic on a deserted beach or even at your own kitchen table. The Chester Municipal Heritage Society is a 100% local charity founded in 1981 that plays a vital role in Chester as it owns Lordly Park, Lordly House Museum, Maple Cottage and the Train Station. It is hard to imagine the Village without the Park, the local Museum and the Train Station with its specialized exhibits, shops and weekly farmer’s market.

This is a third party event and has not been verified by the Municipality.
