Wildfire Prevention Measures – Restrictions on Activities in the Woods.

Nova Scotia has restricted activities in the woods and banned open fires. Restrictions are in place as of August 5 at 4pm until October 15, or until the Province lifts the restrictions. There is a $25,000 fine for violating these restrictions.

Second Story Women’s Centre is putting on a performance of the Vagina Monologues.  Shows will be performed at the Chester Playhouse with an evening performance on March 7 (Reception 6:30 pm and Show 7:30 pm) and a matinee performance on March 8 (Reception 2:00 pm and Show 3:00 pm), which is also International Women’s Day.  The performance is directed by Saundra Vernon. Playwright and activist Eve Ensler interviewed dozens of women about their vaginas, some happy, some funny, and others heartbreaking. The Vagina Monologues is a collection of the experiences of these women. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at chesterplayhouse.ca or call 902-275-3933.  All proceeds support Second Story Women’s Centre Program & Services.  Second Story Women’s Centre works with individuals in Lunenburg and Queens Counties. All their programs and services are free!
