About the Municipality of Chester

From Hubbards to Martins River and inland to New Ross and Sherwood, Our Municipality of Chester is the gateway to the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

For ease of exploring we've broken down our Municipality into five main areas.

Located in Kespukwitk (Lands End) district of Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. The Municipality acknowledges the Peace and Friendship Treaties signed and recognizes that we are all Treaty People. We acknowledge the responsibility to deeply engage and move forward with the work of truth, reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

NEW ROSS COUNTRY MARKET is open EVERY SATURDAY from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at the New Ross Community Fairgrounds (5024 Hwy 12, New Ross) until October 12. Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, Home Baked Goodies, Spices, Pickles, Kimchi, Sauerkraut, Wine Jelly, Jams, Jellies, Crafts, Coffee and Tea, New Vendors, Live Entertainment and more!!! Anyone interested in becoming a permanent or occasional vendor can contact George 902-681-3171 or Ruth 902-689-2147. Our Community Booth is available to Non-Profit Groups at NO CHARGE.
