Wildfire Prevention Measures – Restrictions on Activities in the Woods.

Nova Scotia has restricted activities in the woods and banned open fires. Restrictions are in place as of August 5 at 4pm until October 15, or until the Province lifts the restrictions. There is a $25,000 fine for violating these restrictions.

New Ross Community Fair at the New Ross Fairgrounds (Hwy 12).  Horse & Ox Pulling both days; Charing Cross Garden Club’s Annual Flow Show; Handicrafts, Stage Entertainment, Booths, Games, Bingo, etc.  Competitions:  Christmas Tree & Wreath; Single Horse Challenge; Ox Challenge; Light Horse Competitions; Chainsaw Filing/Fast Cut Competition; Antique Chainsaw Competition & Open Class (Hot Saw) Competition, Cross Cut Saw Competition; Arm Wrestling and Steer Pull for Teamsters Under 16.  Daily Admission.  Meals:  Dinner 12:00 to 1:00 pm and Supper 4:30 to 6:30 pm.  For more info contact Fallon 902-275-7651.  Hosted by New Ross Farmers’ Association.
