Wildfire Prevention Measures – Restrictions on Activities in the Woods.

Nova Scotia has restricted activities in the woods and banned open fires. Restrictions are in place as of August 5 at 4pm until October 15, or until the Province lifts the restrictions. There is a $25,000 fine for violating these restrictions.

Logging Demonstration Weekend

This weekend, our interpreters will demonstrate traditional logging. Come watch as they cut down a tree using an axe and crosscut saw, junk it up, and yard it to the brow, which was traditionally done using a team of horses or oxen.
