About the Municipality of Chester

From Hubbards to Martins River and inland to New Ross and Sherwood, Our Municipality of Chester is the gateway to the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

For ease of exploring we've broken down our Municipality into five main areas.

Located in Kespukwitk (Lands End) district of Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. The Municipality acknowledges the Peace and Friendship Treaties signed and recognizes that we are all Treaty People. We acknowledge the responsibility to deeply engage and move forward with the work of truth, reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Kitchen Party Featuring…The Gypsy Minstrels at the Chester Basin Legion from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Celebrate 80 years of service with veterans, their families and Chester Basin Community. Come on out and share your history stories with us at our Kitchen Parky. The Legion will have a 1946-style THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY dinner for that night. Drink special will include drinks from that era! Donations at the door. Cash Bar and Snacks.
