About the Municipality of Chester

From Hubbards to Martins River and inland to New Ross and Sherwood, Our Municipality of Chester is the gateway to the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

For ease of exploring we've broken down our Municipality into five main areas.

Located in Kespukwitk (Lands End) district of Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. The Municipality acknowledges the Peace and Friendship Treaties signed and recognizes that we are all Treaty People. We acknowledge the responsibility to deeply engage and move forward with the work of truth, reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Indoor Yard Sale & BBQ at the Chester Basin Fire Department (5430 Hwy 3). Yard Sale from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and BBQ from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Hot Dogs $2, French Fries $3.50, Onion Rings $3.50, Hamburger $4, Cheeseburger $4.50, Pop $1.50 and Water $1. Washrooms available. All proceeds from the BBQ go to the Fire Department.
