About the Municipality of Chester

From Hubbards to Martins River and inland to New Ross and Sherwood, Our Municipality of Chester is the gateway to the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

For ease of exploring we've broken down our Municipality into five main areas.

Located in Kespukwitk (Lands End) district of Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. The Municipality acknowledges the Peace and Friendship Treaties signed and recognizes that we are all Treaty People. We acknowledge the responsibility to deeply engage and move forward with the work of truth, reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Heritage Handwork Drop-In

HERITAGE HANDWORK DROP-IN at the District #1 Community Centre, Blandford in the Lodge Room from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month starting September 24. Bring your great ideas for: hooking, knitting, embroidery, quilting or any other portable handwork. You are welcome to bring your sewing machine. Get help from the more experienced members of our communities and share your expertise. Drop in for an hour or bring your lunch and stay for the day. Drop-in fee $4. Coffee is free and available all day long but please bring your own mug. Please note that this is a nut free zone.
