Wildfire Prevention Measures – Restrictions on Activities in the Woods.

Nova Scotia has restricted activities in the woods and banned open fires. Restrictions are in place as of August 5 at 4pm until October 15, or until the Province lifts the restrictions. There is a $25,000 fine for violating these restrictions.

From Hubbards to Martins River and inland to New Ross and Sherwood, Our Municipality of Chester is the gateway to the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

Located in Kespukwitk (Lands End) district of Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. Halloween Dance at the New Ross Firehall from 9:00 pm till 1:00 am (doors open 8:45 pm). Music by Short Notice. Tickets $10 – available at Barry Russell’s Service Station starting October 4. Cash prizes will be awarded for: Most Original, Most Humorous and Most Artistic. The judging will take place at 10:15 pm. Everyone 19 years and older welcome.
