About the Municipality of Chester

From Hubbards to Martins River and inland to New Ross and Sherwood, Our Municipality of Chester is the gateway to the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

For ease of exploring we've broken down our Municipality into five main areas.

Located in Kespukwitk (Lands End) district of Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. The Municipality acknowledges the Peace and Friendship Treaties signed and recognizes that we are all Treaty People. We acknowledge the responsibility to deeply engage and move forward with the work of truth, reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Free Clothing New to You at the Aenon Baptist Church (#57 Hwy 12, Chester Basin). First Tuesday of each month starting January 6, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm and the third Wednesday of each month starting January 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Look for the sandwich board by the road. Donations welcome but not necessary. If you like to Frenchy shop, come see us and make a donation.
