Wildfire Prevention Measures – Restrictions on Activities in the Woods.

Nova Scotia has restricted activities in the woods and banned open fires. Restrictions are in place as of August 5 at 4pm until October 15, or until the Province lifts the restrictions. There is a $25,000 fine for violating these restrictions.

From Hubbards to Martins River and inland to New Ross and Sherwood, Our Municipality of Chester is the gateway to the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

Located in Kespukwitk (Lands End) district of Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. Crib Tournament

Crib Tournament at the Forties Community Centre, 1787 Forties Road, New Ross. Doors open 12:00 noon. Registration at 12:30 pm. Play starts at 1:00 pm. Cost: $20 per team. Must be 19 years or older. Canteen available. Wheelchair accessible (ground level). For more info call 902-689-2147
