About the Municipality of Chester

From Hubbards to Martins River and inland to New Ross and Sherwood, Our Municipality of Chester is the gateway to the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

For ease of exploring we've broken down our Municipality into five main areas.

Located in Kespukwitk (Lands End) district of Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. The Municipality acknowledges the Peace and Friendship Treaties signed and recognizes that we are all Treaty People. We acknowledge the responsibility to deeply engage and move forward with the work of truth, reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Join us In Conversation (via Zoom) with award-winning African Nova Scotian author, spoken-word artist, and arts educator Andre Fenton. Andre, the author of three YA novels, has represented Halifax at seven national poetry festivals and has facilitated writing and performance workshops at over 50 schools across Nova Scotia.
