About the Municipality of Chester

From Hubbards to Martins River and inland to New Ross and Sherwood, Our Municipality of Chester is the gateway to the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

For ease of exploring we've broken down our Municipality into five main areas.

Located in Kespukwitk (Lands End) district of Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. The Municipality acknowledges the Peace and Friendship Treaties signed and recognizes that we are all Treaty People. We acknowledge the responsibility to deeply engage and move forward with the work of truth, reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Join Chester Garden Club for a Fall Social at St. Stephen’s Hall (54 Regent St. Chester), starting 7:00 pm. Bring a friend for the fun. Bring an item for our annual “Veggie & Preserve Basket Draw”. Bring a favorite preserve or fall treat for a taste test and share the recipe. Join a round table discussion about garden challenges and the year ahead. Showcase an autumn arrangement from your garden. Bring some seed packets to trade with others. We all need garden tips to help us “put our gardens to bed”.
