Butter Making Weekend

Come experience our Butter Making Weekend at Ross Farm Museum.
This weekend, a selection of artifacts will be on display to illustrate the process of butter making and the milk industry, including items such as this small half-pint milk jug. Left full on the doorstep by “the milkman” daily or weekly. Milk jugs such as these would be used, then returned on the milkman’s next visit. Households could arrange for quart, pint, or half-pint jugs, and leave notes with their bottles if they ever wished to change their order.
We’ll be going back even further in time this weekend to demonstrate butter making as it was done in the 1820s.
