This classic Christmas play by Barbara Robinson follows the outrageous shenanigans of the Herdman siblings, or “the worst kids in the history of the world.”
In this adaptation, a community struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids – probably the most inventively awful kids in history. It’s mayhem – and fun – when the Herdmans collide head-on with the story of Christmas! Join us as this clash of cultures highlights themes of poverty, inclusion, compassion, and the power of community.
Presented by the Chester Drama Society, in partnership with the Chester Playhouse, and directed by Cynthia Myers, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever features a large cast of performers of all ages, based right here in our community. Bring the whole family to this hilarious and uplifting story as an encounter with seeming misfits provides a deeper and more heartfelt experience of holiday traditions.
