About the Municipality of Chester

From Hubbards to Martins River and inland to New Ross and Sherwood, Our Municipality of Chester is the gateway to the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

For ease of exploring we've broken down our Municipality into five main areas.

Located in Kespukwitk (Lands End) district of Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. The Municipality acknowledges the Peace and Friendship Treaties signed and recognizes that we are all Treaty People. We acknowledge the responsibility to deeply engage and move forward with the work of truth, reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Captain Kidd Rod & Gun Club Annual Lobster Dinner from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm at 2015 Hwy 3, East Chester. Cost $25 per person. Dinner includes: 1 ¼ to 1 ½ pound Lobster (or 6 oz. Filet Mignon) potato salad, coleslaw, roll, wine, tea or coffee, and homemade pie. Tickets available at Kelvin’s Taxidermy, 18 White Birch Road, Chester Basin or by calling 902-275-2174. Steak Dinners must be pre-ordered!
