About the Municipality of Chester

From Hubbards to Martins River and inland to New Ross and Sherwood, Our Municipality of Chester is the gateway to the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

For ease of exploring we've broken down our Municipality into five main areas.

Located in Kespukwitk (Lands End) district of Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. The Municipality acknowledges the Peace and Friendship Treaties signed and recognizes that we are all Treaty People. We acknowledge the responsibility to deeply engage and move forward with the work of truth, reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Annual Christmas Craft Fair at the Chester Basin Legion from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. We had so much interest in this year’s event that we will have 24 crafters upstairs and 10 crafters downstairs (all tables are booked) ...a great selection of sewing, knitting, jewelry, painting, personalized items, handmade soap...so much more! Santa arrives on the CBVFD fire truck at 10:30am! Bring your cameras! The kitchen canteen opens at 11:30 am for lunch. For more info, please contact 902-275-8391.
