Wildfire Prevention Measures – Restrictions on Activities in the Woods.

Nova Scotia has restricted activities in the woods and banned open fires. Restrictions are in place as of August 5 at 4pm until October 15, or until the Province lifts the restrictions. There is a $25,000 fine for violating these restrictions.

Annual Christmas Cookie Contest & Auction at Chester’s (43 Queen Street, Chester) from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.  Bake someone happy and register today! Bake up a storm and enter your favourite cookie to win!  Wear your ugliest Christmas sweater and take a selfie at the selfie Centre.  We’ll have good eats, good fun, good music and it’s all for a good cause – our fabulous community!  Net proceeds to the Lighthouse Foodbank and Shoreham Village Residents.  Registration $5 and bakers dozen required per submission – 1 cookie for judging, 1 dozen for auction.  To register/more info, contact Sandy Morash 902-275-8090 or email: s.morash@ns.sympatico.ca.
